Hi y'all,

Here's a picture of the top of my Transmission from a 77 CJ7 with a 3 speed. I've got a couple of questions.

1. Can you tell which Transmission this one is?

2. My reverse lights don't work. Are any of the circled places where the switch ought to be?

3. Should B be a hole or something screwed in there? Just a hole on mine.

4. Should A be loose? It feels like a plastic button or grommet maybe.

5. Would it hurt to hit this bad boy with some degreaser, it's a mess.

Thanks!
Tom

Looks like a Tremec T AMC 150
A- is just a vent with cover and should feel loose
B- is Speedometer connection
C- is backup light switch

Fantastic, thanks! I am going to clean it up before I dig into the backup light problem.

let's try again

assuming it's a T-150 under all that grime:

A = vent

B = Transmission controlled spark switch (emissions, high gear only)

C = Back-up light switch

Speedo cable connects at the Transfer Case , not the Transmission .

Thanks, I found a TSM online - it confirms that this thing shipped with a T-150 . I appreciate your help.

That transmision is identical to the T-150 I just rebuilt for my '77 CJ5
B is the speedo connection and
C is the back up light switch

The Transfer Case has no provisions for any connections of any kind.

I agree whole heartedly!!
you need some de-greaser!:D

I de-greased the top of the Transmission so I could work on the switch. After a good cleaning, it tested fine. Thanks for your help!
