Have any of you had your tub and/or the inside of your fender wells rhino lined? Its something that i plan on having done and I just wanted to hear some of your comments and thoughts about it. Also how much did it cost you if you dont mind me asking? Thanks

haven't done it yet i plan to though. also haven't heard anybody complain about it, anybody that does it likes it. as far as cost i am going to use the do it yourself roll on liner, still looking into the different brands but it should cost around $100 to do it, maybe a little less

I havent heard of any complaints yet either. I dunno how good the roll on stuff is thats why i was thinkin about having rhino liner come out and spray it for me of course i would do all the prep work so i could save some money!:D

My interior was done when I bought the jeep. It looked pretty good, and always gets comments whenever someone unfamiliar with Jeeps gets in: "Is that bedliner on your floor?" It is also pretty handy when I wash the Jeep. I just park facing up an incline, drop the tailgate, and powerwash the interior. The drainholes in the front section need to be working pretty well, though.

In the research that I had done, "Durabak" or "Duraback" (or whatever) seems to be a pretty good product. Of note are the UV inhibitors, and a bunch of colors... Were you planning on doing the exterior, as well? I periodically get fixated on putting it on the exterior. Talk about rugged. I figured a lighter color would withstand fading. I know some folks roll it on, but I have also heard that it is a better job if you spend $19 on a spraygun from Harbor Freight (one meant for textured finishes), and just throw the gun away at the end... Not only does it let you get into all the nooks and crannies, but it is overall a more consistant pattern (i.e., no roller marks).

I know one thing is certain... Be sure the surface you are lining is EXTREMELY clean. Otherwise the stuff will pull off for sure. Also, if you are doing the interior, be sure to cover any exposed nuts and bolts. Once covered, you'll never be able to get it off...

Thanks Davy:chug:. i will look into that i want to match it to the color of my jeep only problem is i dont know what color i will paint the jeep yet. also i dont think i want the outside done in it but i defiantly want the under side of the fender wells and possibly the frame.

I used smooth durabak bedliner for the outside of my CJ5 one time. It also had the UV inhibiters if a remember right. Make sure you do it in a warm environment. The first time I did it, it was in the middle of winter in an unheated garage, and I applied it on in to thick of coats without ample time to dry properly. I ended up being able to pull it off in large sheets. It bonds to itself probably better then the surface it is applied to, so if you don't follow the directions and apply light coats, and allow ample drying time it will probably turn out like mine did the first time. It worked really well when I used it in warmer temperatures! I used it as a roll on, but could have also been sprayed on. Durabak also recommends it for frames and other parts. Peterson's 4 wheel Offroad magazine did a good write up on it using it as a brush on exterior paint for a full sized truck.

Nope never seen it done, LOL.

If your gonna do just the inside check out heculiner or the like.

If your gonna do the outside get line-x, it's actually bomb proof.
Saw a show on discovery where the blew up a truck with the bed lined and it
stayed together. Bent the :dung: out of the bed but didn't tear through.

Ok i have been doing reading some reviews and seems like everyone likes the durabak for a diy liner. And if money wasnt a issue it would be line-x'd. But i ran it to this on my searches U-Pol Raptor Truck Bed Liner Kit - TP Tools & Equipment its called raptor liner has anyone used it? im curious because they say they have a clear version... wonder if the clear would look good over the paint job?

I plan on doing the inside of the tub, under side of the tub, underside of the fenderwells and also if i can the frame. i would assume that would take about 3-5 gallons of it. And if any of you guys have a Green jeep can you send me some pics i think i am gonna paint it green since we(my family) have a black blue orange yellow and red one already.

I did the roll on Herculiner on my TJ that I had. I worked perfectly. It stood up to the Virginia sun with only minimal fading. The only issue I had was where my foot rested under the gas pedal it began to wear through. I would recommend putting a third coat on there. I was able to get the interior prepped, rollled, and put back together in one weekend. I plan on doing it again to my CJ once i get that far in the build. It may not be as tough as Rhino, or Linex, but it was definitely worth the money to do again. Cost was just over $100 for the kit, and it had everything in it that you needed to do the job, including prep work. Hope that helps.

I used plasti-Kote. Was pretty cheap at Walmart. I did the job about 1 year ago and i is holding up well, no fade or peeling.

Proper prep. is mandatory. Good thing about this stuff, is if you damage it, you can buy touch up cheap.

If you get it, don't get the spay on cans, they clog. Just get the paint on. On can did me with some left over.

There is a picture in my gallery.

The raptor liner is a great product, several people I know have used it. I plan on trying it out on my wifes LJ Rubicon. I like it because it can be color matched.
Comes in a complete kit and can be sprayed on at home.

Like most things the key to success is in the prep.

Brock let me know once you use that scorpion liner im pretty curious about it! hopefully its as good as they say im thinkin about scorpion or the durabak not sure yet!
