After getting my jeep home I realized that the PO just set a POS old bent roll bar in it. I am ordering a new roll cage and my glass tub has never had a rollcage bolted to it. Yes no holes in it at all. My Question is what kind of bolts(round head, what), Washers, and What grade. I know this is a dumb question, but I don't want to mess anything up.:notworthy:

Grade 8 all the way. But, the fiberglass body will not hold up to a roll over with a cage that is only bolted to the floors. You need to tie it into the frame or else you have just a "sport cage".

What is a sports cage? I was going to get the standard cage and get an option that ties into the Dash board.

sport cage= pretty much just for looks.

It doesn't take that much to tie it to the frame, there's kits out there
to do it. You never know when you will need a real roll cage.;)

Thats a tough one, with a Fiberglass tub. Bottom line as others have suggested you need to tie it into the frame both front and rear and each side. Outriggers welded off of the frame left & right front & rear. And of course keep in mind your body is floating on mounts so incorporate that also into your roll cage mounts into your body.

All trail rides around here require non-stock tubs to be tied to the frame. I used poly bushings on the frame tie in mounts.

Large backup plates on both sides of the tub on the rear wheel housings. Even the top side. I have seen a roll push the stock bar through the wheel housings.

With a glass tub don't think the bar would even qualify as "for looks".

my steel tub is all bent from being put on its side at some point. both wheel wells are dented and the bar has a large scrape on the drivers side like it saw some pavment nice and close. if it were fiberglass it would have just broke
