Guys,

I need to do a thorough cleaning of my engine and undercarriage to figure out where the Jeep is leaking oil.

I was thinking about using my power washer, but I am a little concerned about the water getting into the distributor or other electrical components and screwing things up. I also thought about lots of cans of brake cleaner (can spray more accurately away from electrical stuff), but that doesn't seem like a good answer.

What do you think? How have you done it before??

I use plastic grocery bags to cover the vitals, then spray on my own degreaser.
And hose away. As long as your not blasting away on any one thing in particular your good.

I was just playing with plastic bags. Good idea!!

Do you use a regular hose, or a power washer?

Ive used the local car wash to really get in there and spray at it. Just keep the electrical stuff covered and you'll be good to go.
