I am wondering which type of terrain everyone loves to play on the most. I live 4 hours from the rubicon but have never really done much crawlin. I love to play in the mud but live in Nevada. Not much moisture to make mud. I also live an hour from 40 square miles of sand dunes. Gotta love my raptor for that. For the most part the wheeling that gets done around here are dusty dirt roads, but thankfully theres a lot of mountains and more roads than you can count.

Mine is built for the mud!

Need I say more?

Well it does make a pretty good trail and crawlin' rig also.

I like it all, but around here it's fire roads and rocks.
I like the rocks better cause there isn't so much mess to clean up.(I'm getting lazy in my old age):)

For me it's mud in the spring, mostly dry trails in the summer and fall, and snow ALL winter long. I think my favorite is springtime. Not only because the weather warms up but mud is just a blast to play in.

I like it all... When I lived in Western Wa it was mud and the twice a year trip over to eastern Wa for my desert fix, in SoCal it was monthly out to the Anza Borrego and every three years or so to the Rubicon. Here in VA, it's about a 3.5 hour drive to get to anywhere LEGAL for true four wheeling. Here lately, it's been on the OBX beaches only:bang:... no challenge!

That stinks that you have to drive that far to 4wheel. Is the wheelin good once you get there?

I love the rocks of Coyote lake, Swamp Lake and the dusy. Dirt/ mud and sand just don't have the technical appeal for me.

Here in MI we have a lot of Mud, which I am not a fan of. Recently have had a couple new parks open up with a bit of trails.

I prefer rocks over mud as the mud here in MI seems to be toxic and eat up rigs rather well. Good wheeling for me is at least a 4 hour drive (although one new park I haven't tried yet that opened is 2.5 hrs away) and to get to rocks like I like at least 8 hours. :(

Got to wheel Moab this past Spring and will be going back out west again next Spring.

For me its dirt. Mud is fun but I hate cleaning and sand just Blows.

agreed on the mud part but I just put lawn sprinkler under jeep for a while and it does most of the work, Other than that most trails have a bit of everything such as dirt, rocks, and some good trails with a mix. :chug:

Come run the local mud spot called The Mounds with us. That mud doesn't come off completely with a power washer!! Hate that stuff.

Trails with a mixture are cool, just tired of a full day of mudding, rather have a mix or a day of rocks.

I like seeing how far we all have to drive to have fun. For me it's 3 hours for a decent ride in the state forest of KY. Or I can drive 5-6 hours to get to Harlan Co KY. (black mt.) or Jellico TN. Those are my only fun choices.

For my CJ7 its the mud. Its only 1.25 hrs away and that is going 55 to Azusa Canyon is So Cal.

I don't have to go anywhere to go fourwheelin I just wish we had some tougher trails. I can get on a 4 wheeler and ten minutes in any direction be in the mountains. But I've also lived here for twenty years and haven't found many places that I can't take a 3/4 ton pick up. Until it rains anyway. Alkali sucks when its raining.

Golden Mountain in Sparta, tn has a good mixture and only 1.5 hours away. Have a big bash coming up in Oct and i am hoping to have my Jeep ready to go...

Trails dirt and rocks. Sand is a PITA and I simply HATE mud!

ICEMAN I know what you mean that red clay is a PITA but sprinkler really does help.

Kicknjeep, I saw they were having the Dixie Run there this year, wanted to go but not going to be able to make it (low on $$). Have you wheeled there before? If so what do they have. Does it compare to Harlan co. or windrock? Just wondering what I'm missing.

Thanks OD

#1 Rocks #2 Forest trails, Way over the Rubicon, I cant take the crowds anymore. So there are many other short technical trails in the area, and for trails , see my sig.

I have changed my mind and i dont want any sand dirt or mud. It has been atleast 105 here everyday for the last two weeks. I am ready to go snow wheelin.
