Well after throwing around some ideas, and some safety concerns, ive decided to upgrade the seats and harness'. Has anyone done this (im sure someone has), i know im gonna have to weld in a crossbar between the roll bar to mount some 4 points, not to mention the seat brackets themselves. Any tips anyone can give me on this one? Seat mount setups, crossbar, seat suggestions? Thanks in advance

As far as mounting new seats goes, i would obviously have to remove the oem seat mount. Which is really only the one bar that curves vertical and horizontal. But what would the new seat mount to? would i have to reuse that bar for the height needed? Or buy a somewhat universal mount?

ah, just re-read youre post busadave. And yea, i removed my rear seat as well, so no concern there for me... how do the new seats bolt up to the oem mounts? i dont even think i have the passenger mount, may have to do some custom fab work on this one

Where can i find seat risers for a 75 CJ5 ?? everywhere i look its for 76 and up...

OEM seat risers will work great if you are using OEM seats. What seats are you going to use? The manufacturer may sell seat risers for that seat. Unfortunately they most likely won't make them for older jeeps. I think you will have to fabricate your own mounts.

yea thats what im figuring....to my metal shop i go...

I tied into the roll cage with my seats.
I got 4 point harness that buckle and they suck, I'm going
to go with the 5 point camlock when funds allow.

I've got a '73 and wanted the same thing you're looking for. You're right, I never found any good bracket options for '72-'75 CJ5s and had to fabricate my own. Here's the "build" link but feel free to PM me if you have any other questions. Seats are Corbeau Baja SS and have a 4-point Corbeau harness that will be tied to original lap mounts and a bar installed between the roll cage.
