Seat Swap

I am looking for some seats for my 74 CJ5 . I have a fiberglass tub. The original seat brackets mount to the flange at the door opening. Having the fiberglass tub I dont feel that this flange is strong enough to mount a seat to. So what I was wanting to find are some seats that will swap directly and mount to the floor only. Any Ideas?

Well I don't know what will work with your fiberglass tub but I put a set of seats from a 98 mustang in mine w/o alot of problems at all. I have heard that alot of ford seats mount up nicely.

I don't know what year they changed, but my 83 seat brakets bolt to the floor.

If you could get your hands on some later floor mount brackets that might work for you with original CJ type seats but if you have thoughts about some other type seat I think you will end up having to make your mounts to get the proper height etc. We talked about this a few weeks back if you do a search.

Heeeyyy...I have a '98 Mustang GT. Black leather seats would be pimp in my CJ

Just dont do like the PO did on mine.Welded the new seats to the seat frame rails.took a bunch of rigging to get it where my belly would fit behind the steering wheel.But they look cool and sit good
