SOME OF THE OLDER CJ5s AND CJ6s WERE SOLD WITH A FRONT SPLIT SEAT. (40/60 or 1/3-2/3 SPLIT) AN ORIGINAL WOULD BE COOL BUT DOES ANYONE KNOW WHERE AN AFTER MARKET IS SOLD OR WHAT OTHER VEHICLE’S SIMILAR SEAT MIGHT FIT? THANKS

As for the split bench I'll have to check my archive of info.
But this should keep you busy for a few:
CJ/YJ Seat swaps

Knew I had something check the info located here I'll see what else I can dig up:
http://www.jeepforum.com/forum/f8/cj5-bench-seat-786866/

Other options:
Older mini-truck (toyota, chevy luv, etc)
3rd row seating from a minivan, carivan, etc.
If you can weld you can cut down a seat frame to make it fit,
then just reskin it.

I'd take some measurements and hit the pick a parts places.

Why would you ever want a bench in a CJ5 ? Where's that shifter going to end up on the middle guy in 3rd gear? It's just too narrow.

I had the 60/40 split in my CJ8 and it sucks.. I put in a couple buckets from an accura integra.
The seats are thicker and wider so i had to shift the seat frames out to fit and i pie cut the seat brackets about an inch and a 1/4 to drop the front then welded it back up.
i use a small waeco fridge for a center console and its much more comfortableand keeps the bevvies cool for the passenger. You see passengers over here can drink while i drive.:chug:

unfortunately, no one makes seats for Early Cj6s, they seem to start with the later ones and if you do find something that fits, the seat bows are not made anymore. You need to find old seats on Ebay, Craigslist or places like J&W Wreckers and get them rebuilt.
fortunately for you, you can make brackets and fit aftermarket seats in a CJ6 , if it was a CJ5 you have to do body work to get aftermarket seats in.
good luck
