i havent had much to do to the jeep lately. so i dug up the selctro hubs that were on it when i got it. i want to take them apart and check them out. i have searched and cant find a diagram or anything on how to take them apart. does anyone know where i can find one?
1977 CJ 7; Amc 401 .30 over, Howell TBI, modified Dana 20 with Terra Low gears and twin sticks, NV 4500 5-speed, modified Dana 30 and Amc 20 both with 4.56 gears (narrow track), ARB air lockers front and rear, SSBC rear disc brake conversion, MICO Brake park brake, Navaho brake booster/ master cylinder, PowerTank CO2 tank.
There have been a number of manufacturers of this type of hub, with minor changes in design depending who was building it. Easy to take apart and reassemble. There is one universal rule to obey when disassembling this hub. There is a group of three screws that attaches the cap to the body of the hub. There is also a set a three screws with tamper proof heads that hold the cam in place. If you take these out, make sure you line up the holes in the cap with those in the cam. If you don’t, you will shatter the cam when you tighten the screws and your hub will be no better than a paper weight for your desk. Cams are hard to find, so be careful.
that is what i was looking for. i have warns on mine now. my jeep sat thru three floods before i got it and the selctro hubs wouldnt lock in. just wanted to take them apart to see if they could be saved and keep them for a back up. if they will clean up all they should need is a thin layer of grease right?

Yes I would think if cleaned up and greased, should be good to go. I had trouble finding the right o-ring and the cam was worn. So I got rid of mine and went with Warn hubs.
