83 cj7, Rebuilt AMC 258 w/2150 carb, crt hei dizzy and 3 core alum radiator, TF999, C300, D30 frt and AMC 20 rear. 1980 yamaha chopped to hardtail!
The previous owner loks to have replace the left and right side panels, wheel wells and back corners and rear floor. Like a partial tub I would have to say. I have no experience with the body of a jeep and looked at this and cant seem to figure out what he did wrong. The drivers door hits on the bottom of the side panel and the passenger door hits the bottom edge of the window rain channel and the rear tailgate flexs out when closed and only latches on the drivers side tightly and leaves a 1/4 gap on the pass side. Its all tack welded so wont be a problem to fix but where the heck do I start as a reference point?? :censored: I knew it was bad but not this bad. Are there any measurement I can take or maybe some pics. Any input would be greatly appreciated

I've got a tub Thats just got most its body work done. The panels I'm adding won't change any measurements as all those places were good. If you let me know what measurements your needing I'll take them for you.

Sounds like somthing i went through with a jeep that i had one time... really in my opinion unless you really just want to figure out what the guy was thinking and fix it it would be worth your time and money to fide a donor tub a lot easyer... but dont go to one of these web sites and buy one for an out rageous price they are crazy. man i am not for sure where you are from but here in mississippi you can find a donor tub that is in really good cond for almost nothing... the key is to ask if it is for sale cause tons of people just let jeeps sit in barns and beside the house and rot and never think about selling... but when asked they sometimes will... and dont feel bad when you get rejected keep asking people and you will get a deal like i did.. i bought a running jeep great body, leather seats, 4' lift, almost brand new 35s for 800 dollars.. yea it was a deal i didnt do one thing to it and sold it for 3500... sorry for rambling just giving ya something to think about...

jeepardy.. i had a question??? i was wondering if you could send me a close up pic of that rust spot under the door on you jeep.. and one befor you paint it it would help me out alot i am bout to deal with a spot almost just like that and i thought about just cutting it out and fixing it with sheet metal... thanks..

My CJ7 has been wrecked in the drivers door area and patched up. It wasnt a problem with the floppy soft doors on it. I bought a hardtop and doors for it and I cant even shut the drivers door, its about 1 1/2" inches overlapping the body. I am working my way around to the drivers side but I plan on some serious cutting and fab work.

man that was a job thanks for the picks, mine wont be that hard but i did learn something.. thaks for the pics...
