Well guys I ended up selling my CJ7 today. :( It had to be sacrificed in order to help my never ending quest for A CJ8 . So now I find myself looking for a $3000 CJ8 . Gonna be tough to find something road worthy for that price but Im not afraid of a project anyway. Vicki said to me today "I thought you liked to work on Jeeps" my reply "But Id like to drive one soon too"

Good luck on the 8. You still have the 5 though so you can stay..

Hope you got a good price on the 7. Any leads on the new one?

This is about as close as I got so far. Im debating on if I wanna do that much work. Its been for sale for quite awhile so Im still holding out for something a bit cleaner

if you want to drive it soon, stay away from anything with a plow on the front. those tend to have lived a very hard life, and would need major work to be really road-worthy.

Good luck finding a 8 they are hard to come by. If anything pops up around here I'll let you know.

at lease you sold the 7 to get a 8. i know someone that sold a 7 for a toyota pick up:eek:. i dont know what he was thinking. if he didnt have the 7 and just got the toyota then it wouldnt of bugged me. lol

That guys out of his mind saying that 8 isnt a basket case. Its a chopped up POS . Worth 1k , tops. Good luck on your quest for an 8

Hes had that thing for sale forever. No top or bulkhead , frame replacement most likely needed not to mention the exhaust and tranny and......

Your a wise man to pass on that one!! It seems that the prices on 8's are more reasonable in mid-west / east coast, at least on the web/auction sites I've seen. It seems that someone convinced everyone here in Ca. and in Texas that 8's are worth a pound and a half of gold. Since I already have one:p I'm happy to know that I might be able to retire someday IF I were to sell it;). The right deal will come along, try checking CJ8 .com lots of east coast and mid west members. Good luck !

Thats the same one. Hes had more than 1 posting for it. Im trying to see how much he knows about Jeeps in general. Im definately willing to travel up there and grab it.
Just was browsing CL up here.
CT isn't too far from you.
A little more pricey, but here it is

Havent gotten that far yet. I convinced him to sell the plow seperate , an I may be adding some axles to the deal. We'll see.
What town is it located in?

I was thinking if it's not too far away I could check it out for you.

We'll see , I appreciate the offer. Ive got him almost into my price range. Im hoping he bites on the axles I have. Just in case anyone else wants to feed the CJ8 fund here they are. Dana 30 narrow track 4.56 open carrier with high steer and beefy drag link/steer arm. AMC20 4.56 ,moser 1 piece axles lock rite all new bearings and seals , need brake hardware and drums thats it. $650. T-18a out of a Ford $AMC 150 .

Anybody wanna buy those axles? If they were wide trac I think I wouldve had a deal with the Cl guy but as it is now no deal. :(
