I'm new here and already had a request for some pics of my rear bumper...I do hope they meant on my Jeep ;)

Anyway, I thought I would share. I have added a winch since these were taken however.

From what I gather, that is quite a popular style of tire mount, and expensive. It also seems to fit quite well. I have to ask, does it wobble as you drive it?

Thanks. I am planning  on making a rear bumper for my 1980 CJ5 this weekend. That is about the same design I have seen on several and was going to go with something like that.

Much improvement over stock!

Again, thanks!:chug:

This mount was on her when I bought her a few years back. But I really like it. I did however remove the gas can that was mounted in the rear as well so I could push the tire all the way up to the mount so it didn't rattle as much. But it never really had any wobble to it. I also really like that my hi-jack and my lug star are all secured there. I did have to use a little but of lock-tite on my wing nuts securing them though as they would rattle a bit loose after hours getting knocked around on the trail.

Here is a pic of the mount swung open. This is an OLD pic of when I first got her. I hadn't removed the gas can mount yet. I have since put the frames for a gas and water can in the bed. I have an easier time getting to them mounted in the back now :)

29 Palms, Marine?

I'm married to one Tin Medic. We have been here 7 years now and making the most of it :)

It looks like we have the same rear bumper/tire carrier but our lock systems are different. I love mine.

Thanks again for the pics and give your wife a thank you from me for her service!

This won't be too expensive Dear! That's what I keep saying. Over and over again.

LOL, well I am the wife actually :)

My darling husband bought me my CJ 3 years ago for my birthday. I was floored when he took me to pick it up and said it was to make up for all the birthdays and anniverys missed while he was deployed. I'm pretty spoiled.

That looks like a camo camelback attached to the passenger seat.

It sure is. If you adjust the straps just right it fits perfect on the bestop seats and I never have to worry about water.

Nice looking rig, THANK YOU to both you and your husband for your service to our country! :notworthy:

That's what happens when I make assumptions! Again, thanks to the Marine for his service and thanks to you for holding down the home front while he is off to work.

Thanks guys. As for making assuptions, well, it happens often, no worries, only it is usually someone thinking it is HIS Jeep or that he does the work. :) I have spent going on 4 years bringing her back to life. When we picked her up she ran but needed lots of TLC as she had sat for quite a while. The only work I have not done myself is the new wiring, I decided to pay someone for that headache. But DH has been great handing me tools and helping me learn to do the things that are new to me. Smart man too, he got me a new center console, dash pad, and winch for Christmas this year. One day I will do the grand finale and get her repainted....ahhh, dreams.

DH = Darling Husband right?? Smart man indeed...;)
