Some type of leak, rear of drivers side on 77 cj5

Hey guys,

Just bought a 77 CJ5 with the304 CID, 3spd.

Got it home then came out the next morning and Theresa's a leak of something that looks like oil near the far drivers side rear corner. Almost thought it was gas but the color/smell...etc showed that it was not.

I could not locate any particular source of the leak, no spatter to trace. So I decreased with simple green, rinsed, waited, no more leak. Drove it 3 times yesterday, no leak all dry, parked for the night, came out this morning, there it was again...any hints? I'm not new to jeeps but new to cjs. Everything seems to be running fine, changes on gauges, no drop in fluid levels.

Its either coolant or oil, a bad softplug or valve cover gasket, that would be my first guess. Might also be the rear main seal or oil pan gasket.
