Your tire mount is from a CJ from the '80s. It mounts on the right side. Like this:
Below and to the right of the tail light is a metal bracket that just keeps the tire from breaking the light.
Here's the left side:
The latch goes on the left side.

My tail lights have been relocated when the diamond plate was put on.Now I cant mount this carrier without welding up some kind of bracket extensions.
Any ideas

Your tail lights have been relocated. The tire mount is from a CJ from the '80s. This is far from stock. I think you need to move those lights again if you want to mount this tire rack. Even then you have a different tailgate than what the tire mount was intended for. Maybe the chain for the tailgate will get in the way. It may almost be better to get a bumper with a built in tire mount. My lights are mounted right below the top of the rear end.Yours are a good 2in down.
Thinking about welding some channel to the bumper to mount the hinge pieces to and fad a latch on the other side.
Any other ideas

ive been looking for the brackets for the spare tire carrier for an 84 CJ7 . there is 2 brackets on right side and one on left by handle. cannot find them anywhere. mayday mayday. requesting help. if anyone has them and want to get rid of them or if you know where i can find would u plz help a jeeper out? thank u very very much
