I took column apart so I could see what was going on with the switch and lo and behold the hazard switch was partially engaged. I don't have the actual hazard button (anyone know where I can get one?) and sometime during assembly I must had partially depressed it. I think this might be the end of it.

Glad to hear it! The hazard button should be a parts store item, check the "Help!" stuff.
