1981 cj5 304 v8, 300 Dana,model 30 Dana and model 20 AMC rear end
Having a problem with the dampner hitting the dfif or bottoming out on its self. Can not figure out how it was before with out having issues.

It looks like everything is in the right place, I would suggest to keep tweaking it until its right. Are your steering stops adjusted correctly?
 
Everything seems to be in place stops look like they are all right nothing rubing. If you center it it hits the diff or its self on the other side.
 
Check the lengths against the OEM specs. I've seen some put on a longer one and then had problems. Mounts do look correct.

I am still in the dark. It has a 6.25 travel. I centered it and no luck bigger wheels will make it better, less knucle turn? The trouble is the tie rod gets closer to the diff when you turn it left
