Build Thread StormRider's 77 CJ7 Golden Eagle Restoration.....
StormRider, I really enjoyed following your restoration. I am currently restoring my 1985 CJ7 . Thanks for helping me stay motivated. Keep posting your progress. :)

Brian

Your welcome Brian. Restoration is very time consuming and expensive and sometimes when it takes too long, one can lose motivation. I know because I almost did along the way. I would say that I am about 85% done right now. I am trying to push hard for the last stretch. It took me 6 months to get to 85% and now I am trying to do the last 15% in 2 weeks.

I have spent more money than I planned but my freaking CJ is practically new. Where can you buy a brand new CJ7 for $12K? And the good thing is my wife and I can drive it another 12 years then give it to my son when he goes to high school and he will have himself a babe magnet....:D

I will take some pictures of my progress or my mess as I should say (right now)

Well boys and girls, I can finally say that I AM FINISHED!!!!!!! Yaaahhhhoooo!!! Well, finished for now that is. Meaning I have finished installing the Painless kit and got everything working right. Ran into a little trouble with the HEI distributor because there wasn't enough room to advance the timing but I decided to move the rotate the housing and swap my wire around. Also the carb needs replacing in the near future but I got it tuned good enough to run for now. Pictures speak louder than words so here are some pictures. What a difference between before and after.....lol.

that is a good color, I like it. :punk:

Here's a few more pics. The 2 front leather seat are in great condition and I bought them from a guy off of Craigslist for $75 a few years back. Think they came out of a Saturn. I just cut the base and welded them on to the CJ base. I decided to go with the lap belts and mounted them to the seat. I like them they are comfy and get you from sliding all over.

Sorry for the blurry picture of the new Painless fuse block.
My 10 month baby daughter testing out the CJ and the back seat : )
