1982 cj7 all stock. has the inline 6 with a five speed tranny.
i got a 1982 CJ7 recently and it had the hard topper on it. i took it off and now i am looking for a decent strapless bikini top that is easy to install. any recommendations?? i got a used top from a jeep place and the guy said it would work but it does not. this topper will be for summer only. going to put back on the hard top in the winter. thanks!!
 
Not sure how the strapless ones work but I picked up a Besttop bikini top for my 73' CJ5 for like 50 bucks. I like it.
 
You wanna go strapless??? WHat are you worried about tan lines. :laugh: All the ones I've seen have a small strap that wraps around the roll bar.

Go best top and don't look back, you will have to install a winsheild channel to use, and remove to put on the hard top.
 
no mag i am not worried abput tan lines. lol. nice rig by the way. i have always heard people just say a strapless bikini top. looks like best top is going to be the best way to go!
 
check out summit racing; got mine in two days. Came with new buttons and strap mounts.

Like someone said, you'll need that rail on your windshield if you don't have it already.

Could you, or someone, describe this rail?? Or put up a pic maybe, I have the hard top on mine, and the windshield already has a rail, or channel of some sort on it. In fact, I think it keeps my top from fitting down on the windshield all the way.. maybe it shouldn't be there?

Is that the channel you guys are talking about? Where this bikini is attatched? In rr41mag's first pic..
 
I have the bestop strapless bikini top and if buying another one would go the full strap style as you can get them tighter and flap around less

That is why I went with the strap style version. I get it on there really tight and the thing barely even moves at speed. Those strapless ones just don't have that capability. Plus, I tend to like the way the strap version looks.

hey diddy is your topper a best top with the straps?? also what did you attach the straps to on the rear?? just curious.
 
The besttop comes with some small bars and screws that you install at the rear corners. Thats where the straps go.
 
I have a a grey one that I am not going to use. It's in perfect condition. If you want it, just pay shipping... that goes for anyone that might want it.

This sounds like it's too late to help, but I bought the standard bestop bikini with straps. I had the straps going to the strap hangers on the wheel wells for a while, but I couldn't get them tight enough to prevent flapping. I then moved the strap hangers to the top portion of the inside windshield so that the straps wrap under the roll bar and back to the front. I'm able to get the straps tight and as a bonus, it looks strapless. Flapping is reduced as well.
