Good morning all, next project quick disconnects. I'm wondering what brand others have, What you like about them and what you don't . I have a 4 inch rough country, and 33 inch tires on a 81CJ7. Thanks.

Years ago my buddy bought a 4" lift for his YJ and it didn't have all the stuff he needed so we had to hit Collins bros since I live a few miles away and we got the skyjacker disconnects because that's what they stocked, however I was impressed with their firmest and machine work you would not have any rattling out of them

TrailQuest is still around, but no long makes 'stuff'.

Been on for a lot of years, I've never disconnected them, but if I ever get around to I'll put some anti-seize on them.

Thanks for the input and pics

Here is my 307 solution to quick D's. Drilled each bolt, upper and lwr, for a pin and installed the Jks style pins last night. Takes about 15 seconds each to disconnect. I keep the post well lubed, will drill and tap it for zerks eventually.

I used old shock eye's cut off with their original bushings, 3/8" all thread and grade 8 shoulder bolts, cut off wheel, and a welder and made my own...

;)

what they wanted for some of those was crazy ($) - mine have been working well for a while now, we'll see if I spring for some good ones later... :D

You might want to try driving on the street with those sway bars disconnected to see just how much it really does help. A lot of guys just throw the sway bar away when a lift kit is installed. I think they do help in the corners a little but not that much.

Thanks to all for the replys. removed my improvised sway bar connectors and while the RC is stiffer than I would like, it has better manners on the road with them connected. Never seen a vehicle complain so much while on pavement. Off road, it seems very happy disconnected.

You might try using less air pressure in your tires to get a better ride even on the street.

I didn't throw mine away.....
