t-5 not going into 5th gear

Im new to this whole jeep craze i bought a 1984 CJ7 with a AMC 258 i6 / 4.2l and a T-5 tranny that is not going into 5th gear all other gears shift and work great except that 5th gears i pop it in and the whole jeep starts shaking so im stuck here maybe a rebuild ? any help would be great

Hello and welcome to the site. While t5s are easy and cheap to repair, they are very light duty. You may want to upgrade to a more robust Transmission . Go to Novak's website and do a little research. The Tremec T176, T177 & T178 Jeep Transmissions - Novak Conversions
