hello everyone,

I have a 1979 CJ7 mostly trail/off road a little low speed town stuff. I have noticed oil leaking out of the breather on my Transfer Case after some use. It just started one day, Any ideas to what would cause this? Thank you

Defective breather would be my guess. When my Dana 20 started doing this I decided that since I use it for a lot of off road driving, I replaced the vent with a long rubber tube in order to keep water from entering the Transfer Case . I ran the tube up under the hood and pointed the opening down. Transfer Case breaths, water stays out. There are some pictures of this on my build thread, "They're coming to take me away"

I would check your fluid level to rule out an overfill (leaking from the tranny or water).

WELCOME :chug:
Is this a Dana 20 t'case?
Check the oil level in the tranny. Bet it's low.;)
The oil is be'n 'pumped' into the t'case.
Check the breather on the tranny.
LG
