Hi everyone,

Need to rebuild my Transmission and Transfer Case , can anybody recommend a supplier in the US that will ship to the UK?

Are Morris 4x4 any good, also are Crown, Omix good quality parts?
Also Novac, are they any better?

Thanks from across the pond!

Morris is great to deal with, we are supposed to get a discount from them for this site, Novak is great also, crown and omix are Chinese parts

Look at jb conversions, I bought everything they sell for Dana 300 . And jb custom fabrication for an awesome twin stick

Thanks gert, I will have a look at both those suppliers. I rather fancy a twin stick. Interesting about the discount at morris!

Oh I like that gert. Was it simple to fit or did you have to alter anything inside the case? Had a look at those suppliers and the twin stick is not expensive at all, seems like a bargain. Are you able to get the full range of gears with this set up and is it a much easier to engage gears?
Thanks buddy I think I will get this mod!

The twin stick from JB is the nicest one I found, you don't need to alter anything but the floor cover just bolt it in it shifts pretty easy

If you want to go with the 4-1 kit, you will need to notch the case to get the new larger gear in. Not that hard really, and the difference is nothing short of amazing in low range. JB conversions (Lomax) or Novak. AVOID Crown/Omix like the plague.

I bought the 4 to 1 lomax, you can see the notch in my case on the top left

Right where the gasket ends?

Thanks gert that's great info.

Just been out to the workshop and compared it with mine regarding the notch, looks straight forward. Will have a look at Lomax and checkout prices!

Going to get the rebuild kits for tranny and Transfer Case from Novak I think, not impressed with Chinese stuff really.

For the price I'm defo going to get the twin stick, it would be rude not to buy it at that price!

Cheers for the advice gert.

Before you buy the rebuild kit for the Transfer Case , decide whether or not you are going the Lomax route as all the rebuild parts for the 300 will come with the kit ;)

Any of you guys used the adjustable throw-out bearing from Novak? Just wandered if they are any better than standard.

No, just used the one that came with the HD clutch kit from Napa.

Never saw the need for it.

Do ck your clutch linkage for wear. The OEM linkage is a joke.
