I just picked up a T19, complete from bellhousing to Tcase that was bolted up to a CJ6 with a AMC 232 i6 . It already had the short input shaft conversion. I also grabbed the clutch pack which was basically brand new.

My current setup is a T-15 bolted to a AMC 258 i6 / 4.2l in a 79 CJ7 . Aside from the pilot bushing and possibly driveshafts, is there anything else I need to swap/modify? I may have to notch my Transmission skid plate as well. I believe that clutch pack should also work on my AMC 258 i6 / 4.2l ?

The T19 was never used in a CJ6 or other Jeeps for that matter but the T-18 was so I have to question which you have. The only difference is that the T19 has a synchronized granny low. As the tranny came from a CJ6 if stock it would be the 4.02 low version. Also the 1979 CJ used a T-150 not a T-15 and the bell housings were drilled for both the T-150 (Ford “butterfly” pattern) and the Jeep T-18 . (The T-15 was used in CJs from 1971 to 1975) So, if you did buy a T19 and not a T-18 , I would assume it originally came from a Scout but still could be from another donor. Either way grabbing the bell housing gives you an extra one to sell but most importantly the clutch fork needs to be notched for the T-18 /19 as one bolt head is inside the bell housing rather than all of the bolts heads being on the outside as required for the T-150 and other transmissions. I assume you gabbed the fork with the rest of the clutch set up. Kirk Beasley did a great write up on the swap a few years ago with some important nuances such as lowering the skid plate etc. This is an easy swap.

It's definitely a T19, I checked the casting numbers. It's out of a Ford originally and has the 6.32:1 1st. As I said, the PO adapted it, obviously it wasn't stock. My 79 CJ DOES have a T-15 , it was PO modification. He swapped it from an auto, so I'm assuming it has the early 70s style clutch pack and bellhousing. I'm just going to swap in all the equipment off the CJ6 and get a new pilot bushing. I think my rear drive shaft will be ok but the front will be way too short.

sorry about this hijacking, but i am reinstalling my T-150
and have lost the T-150 to bellhousing bolts. do you kno the
size, pithch and length of the 4 bolts??
thanks
(and please excuse my hijack!)
