Any BTW - In a 1/4 there are very few cars that will out run those supercharged mustangs,

The Top Fuelers ran the quarter at 316 MPH in Baytown yesterday .........

They have quite a bit more than a SC Mustang, admitted, but, 316 MPH ! ! !

I love TF racing... Try not to miss the Gators...

BTW - Did you know that since July 2008, they don't race TF for 1/4 mile anymore in the NHRA (the Spring Nationals is NHRA). It was reduced to 1000 feet due to safety reasons after Kalitta died. The IHRA still races all 1320 feet though!

Yah, knew that !

;)

When we used to race I always went by Connies, (his dad), pit to look at his cool toys ......

Gotta luv that sound :

RIP Scott !

BTW : Doya know why they raise the bodies after the burnout ?

Okay, I was sure that I knew the answer, butt, to be certain I just called the guy on the left with the ponytail and the gas mask on.

They are tuning the car as we were talkin and I could hear a TF doin a burnout in the background.

Anyone else wanna take a shot at it ?

I tried to call your <-BAD WORD-> earlier (about 1 am) and you didnt answer!

Considering that they are always reaching for the injector hat, I would imagine that it is to engage the secondary injectors for the actual run.

Hint ......

There are three reasons, two being mechanical and one being non-mechanical.

Good answers already !

;)

(In the ole days they did the burnouts on methonol only and then turned on the nitro after the burnout, not nowadays, though.)

I was also going to say to activate the data logging but I couldn't remember if they were allowed to use them...

Ok, Pat Sajak! Flip the damn answer!

Sorry mang, sometimes my personal time is Limited to how much fun I can have ........................

I was kinda hopin for a few more guesses !

Herre ya's go :

These are not the reasons combined, nor are they any single reason, but could be the total reasons :

After the burnout -

adjust the fuel mixture, usually make it more nitro percentage,

adjust the clutches, usually make them more soft, less tire spin,

let any remaining tire smoke out of the drivers cage !

Quit egging him on. He is just trying to prove he has a brain, or knows something more than me... wait, thats not right.

He's um... just being a smartass so stop! He will eventually give us the answers.
