- 1976 CJ5 258. MC2150 carb, PSC steering, Team Rush upgrade, 1 piece rear axles, all electronics relayed. Coming soon: Herculined tub, camo paint- and a bunch of filthy, muddy kids!
Hey guys. '76 CJ5 AMC 258 i6 / 4.2l
After the stainless fan ate my radiator, i put a new radiator in (thank you Ken Miracle) and a set of shrouded twin fans(pushers). Reserve coolant bottle too.
Fans are relayed straight with no thermister switch yet, using a manual switch. New alternator.
Ive been driving her around town in 100 degree weather, no problems at all.
I went to work the other night and drove 40 mi. in 70 degree weather and noticed to temp gauge was in the upper 3/4 range. Around town she stays at exactly half.
So, she runs hotter at a higher rpm range even though its 30 degrees cooler outside?
Gonna replace thermostat, dont know the age of the old one or the pump.
Any ideas? Thanks guys....
