Temp sensor in CTO port
I recently acquired a '78 CJ7 with the AMC 258 i6 / 4.2l . The factory gauges are either inoperable or untrustworthy so I bought a Bosch 3-gauge set from a local parts store, only to find that the aftermarket sensor will not fit into the factory sensor port. The 3-port CTO fitting on the side of the block is not in use and one of the adapters that came with the gauge kit fits that port. Will this location provide adequate flow to the sensor to yield an accurate water temperature reading?
