TF999 questions

I understand TF999 came in many Jeeps after CJ's etc. I also understand that at some point they had electronic shift control and the bolt pattern changed. My question is how new of a TF999 can I use in my carbed CJ?
Or up to what year?

I know you could use mine. That takes you up to atleast '85 but Im sure your asking about later models. I'll try and dig up some info for you.

HAHA, hey what's going on brother? Yeah, I found one 5 min away but it's out of a YJ. It has an NP Transfer Case . Guy doen't know what year.

I was tempted to say when they went to fuel injection in '90 , but I cant say positively.

But using Novaks site It looks to me like no Transmission that was behind the 4.0 has the correct bolt pattern for the AMC 258 i6 / 4.2l . Scroll down to bellhousings.
