That Jeep Wave

So I've been driving my CJ5 to work for most of this past week and on the way I've only seen newer Jeeps. I've waved and gotten no response, so I gave up.

Today on the way home someone actually waved at me from a newer Jeep. It was the usual 4-door and very dark inside with all the windows up (and me with no top or doors) so I didn't even see it until it was too late to wave back but it felt so good! Just knowing there's a newer one out there that might have an inkling of a soul.....

With any modern Jeep, unless it's a Moab rock crawler, I don't look at the driver when I wave, because chances are they won't wave back, which will annoy me. Then I'll have to slam the breaks, turn around, and go all Mad Max on him.

I've had a few waves. Not like the good old days though when every Jeep owner would wave at ya. I've had so many not wave back that I don't even initiate it anymore.
I've probably had more motorcycle riders give me the old down low wave lol.

I love the motorcycle wave.. "Keep your wheels on the ground" It certainly applies to Jeeps too!

My teenage daughter has a group of friends and one of the boys has a nice newer 4 door jeep, and he gets so aggravated at most of the other new jeepers because they don't wave back.

I’m gonna hafta agree here - rarely do I get a wave from a newer JEEP. I too have given up. The YJ’s will normally wave, and occasionally the TJ’s. The 4 doors are just SUV’s to the owners - they have no idea about the wave. No longer do I initiate. And I also get. Ore waves from non Jeep owners.....

I would say it's about 50/50 on getting the wave from Americans on base and 10/90 getting it from the very few Germans on the economy. I actually had a German ask me what the wave was about just before he asked if I was willing to sell him my CJ7 .[emoji23][emoji23][emoji1787] I told him it's not for sale.
