Well I'm starting a new project, a 53 CJ3b high hood, wanted one these for a long time, for some these are just an old boxy sqare ugly jeep, to others like myself and to those who have one you just couldnt put enough 0's on the check to pry one out of there hands, here's the back story on it, it was found in a barn, dont you just hate those stories, and the owner started a restoration on it, body off the frame, but decided to sell it, and just by chance we meet in the internet worked out an agrement made an cyber hand shake and thats how it started, now I live in kent, wash and it was located on the Idho border, so me and some buddy's loaded up the car trailer and took my friends parents 78 chevy 1 ton van and made a road trip, for some reason I dont remember the stock seats being that uncomfortable in that old van, guess I'm getting old, the trip out there took us threw some places with a hole lot of nothen but farm feild's on both sides of the road, man I'd hate being a teen ager living out there' what the hell do people that live out there do, for a living, for fun, for a life, all the things that you ask your self as you watch the miles and the hours go by, so back to the subject, still working a list of steps to put it back together, I know some would say start by mounting the body back on the frame, but there might be some steps to do that might be easer to do while the body is off, I'm going to stop here and get some pic's posted up real soon starting with how it looks now and as it progress, thanks for reading, Lyman

Ya just got to love old flat fenders. I've been Looking for the "right one" for awhile, but life keeps getting in the way. Good Luck with your project.;)

Id be running new hard lines for the brakes and fuel tank while the body is off. Id clean the frame up and paint it also. Maybe go over the whole suspension and all the bushings. Look for any rot and repair. How did you try to upload pics? Id love to see it.

wirenut, if I was to do a fatfender, the CJ3-b would be my choice, I love the look of the high hood. Nice addition to the family. Good luck and post pictures.

You said you're from Kent, WA. I'm from Olympia, WA. I'm restoring an old 68"CJ5 . Good to hear there is someone on this site not too far away from me. If you ever need a hand, let me know. I love those old Hi-Hoods!:chug:
