Just so the title makes sense Pat is the name of my Cj's PO and since I have a name to the madness or more accurately Cause of madness I normally curse Pat's name several times a day. Also a fun fact, Pat is literally seven feet tall.
Anywho since I fixed the Hydraulic linkages(at least for now....) I decided to celebrate by installing my CJ's interior I have pieced together.
THe interior was pretty bad when I got the Limited (Benjamin) the front foot wells had a nice layer of surface rust, the carpet had long since been removed, the Limited specific hard top headliner gone, seats front and rear just tore up, windsheild was missing one of those black knob things that hold the windshield upright, etc,etc you know the drill if you have bought a second hand cj. I ground down the rust and herculined the floor and about 1/4 inch up the walls.
I also started to paint the Hardtop, that was for some reason unbeknownst to me Rattle canned black when it was a nice light tan factory, with my SEMA camel colored flexible paint I picked up online (15 bucks a can yikes!). I tested it on my speaker boxes first (they were originally black) and it bonds really well so I went for it . I am not done with the top only had enough paint for about half of it and even that still needs another coat but you can tell it will look nice. I had to literally cut the hardtop off as he had put RTV Silcone in the cracks to seal it when the weather seal went, He also drilled holes through the top for some unknown reason(I hate you so much PAT!!!!!!!!!)
Any how pics are below.
