Just so the title makes sense Pat is the name of my Cj's PO and since I have a name to the madness or more accurately Cause of madness I normally curse Pat's name several times a day. Also a fun fact, Pat is literally seven feet tall.

Anywho since I fixed the Hydraulic linkages(at least for now....) I decided to celebrate by installing my CJ's interior I have pieced together.

THe interior was pretty bad when I got the Limited (Benjamin) the front foot wells had a nice layer of surface rust, the carpet had long since been removed, the Limited specific hard top headliner gone, seats front and rear just tore up, windsheild was missing one of those black knob things that hold the windshield upright, etc,etc you know the drill if you have bought a second hand cj. I ground down the rust and herculined the floor and about 1/4 inch up the walls.

I also started to paint the Hardtop, that was for some reason unbeknownst to me Rattle canned black when it was a nice light tan factory, with my SEMA camel colored flexible paint I picked up online (15 bucks a can  yikes!). I tested it on my speaker boxes first (they were originally black) and it bonds really well so I went for it . I am not done with the top only had enough paint for about half of it and even that still needs another coat but you can tell it will look nice. I had to literally cut the hardtop off as he had put RTV Silcone in the cracks to seal it when the weather seal went, He also drilled holes through the top for some unknown reason(:biggun:I hate you so much PAT!!!!!!!!!)
Any how pics are below.

List of interior parts added:
Quadratec Honey Colored Deluxe Carpet-200 shipped(bought this second hand and that price included the half doors and bikini pictured)

Still needs another coat on the painted bit and then of course the black parts, the wet spots are the doings of the one pictured above.

Vertically Driven Products 41511C - VDP Deluxe Ultimate Console for 76-95 Jeep CJ & Wrangler YJ - Quadratec
This is the center console I got. If you look at the picture showing the cargo area you can tell it looks a little crooked. I investigated worried I messed up the mounting and saw that the clasp on the top had ripped some of the screws on the drivers side. This happened when I was installing and accidentally twisted it slightly. I have to say I am not impressed with the quality. It looks nice and it has cool features like the six pack beer cooler.....I mean soda cooler but all it really is is a plastic tub with enough room to stick ice in the bottom and cans on top.

All it is is basically a thin wood frame wrapped with water resistant spice colored vinyl, the front cup holder comes out so you can mount it as well as the front sunglass holder(i guess they wanted you to have tons of mounting options) and once you remove these once they dont really sit snuggly back in and seem slip out a little too easy.

I wouldn't recomend this to anyone as the construction is crumby and all it does is look good. I don't think I am going to get alot of life out of it. If i could do it over I would have spent the extra 10-20 bucks to get a rugged ridge or bestop one as I am familiar with their products and know they make a decent product.

Just letting yall know my experience.

Was the dog bought first? Or was it the Jeep? I will never tell:bounce:

its amazing to me that people would mechanically abuse such fine specimens of jeeps. who would abuse jeep? isn't there a jeep abuse law like animal cruelty

Pat should be sentenced to 20 years of hard Jeep restoration time behind bars :D

keep up the good work, it looks good :chug:

Finished painting the hardtop today. SO far I have bought 4 cans of Camel colored paint. THe top is kinda uneven but I put alot of layers on the side because well who is going to be staring at the top of my hard top. It was 12.99 a can plus shipping (http://www.levineautoparts.com/semcamplasan.html )and four cans repainted my speaker boxes from black to camel and then the whole top and the last two cans dont have much left in them, not enough to put another layer on the roof but enough to be ample for touch ups and also enough to cover the brow when I fill the holes that Mr. Pat thought would go well in the hardtop with fiberglass resin.

The top looks great thumbsup.webp. If I didn't know it was rattle canned I would've thought you had it sprayed somewhere.

Thanks there are some signs like the very top I didn't bother to make sure even and I accidentally painted the side window seals in a few places but this paint is really good stuff, unlike the center console I don't regret it and definitely recomend picking some up.

ThisGuy - If you want to get rid of those old CJ seats, I'll pay shipping to 45152. I don't need the supports, just the seats. I'm looking for a set of original CJ seats (no matter what the shape).

Sorry a local guy bought em for 40 bucks. I guess he wants to do the samething you do..... The whole reason I bought the rampage seats was because I couldn't find a place to reupholster or sell the stuff to reupholster the stocks seats so I just went with the rampages. Apparently such a place exists and I am just to dumb to find it.:( Those Rampages ran me about 400 bucks.

Pics of the top on the Jeep, its a shade or two lighter than the spice but close enough.
