Can't believe I missed it this year! What a great race! :notworthy:

Next year - I WILL be there!

I get goose bumps watching them brake into the back straight chicane! The cars are just so damn fast! :)

watched parts on speed. so glad its racing time again. when i was watching it last night jimmy johnson was doing pretty good.

Yeah I think your right. :(
As far as I know - no its all live during the race - bad :censored:

Do we have to start talking about Jimmy Johnson already? :D

Damn, I was so busy this weekend I forgot it was on
I love course racing. watching cars that can actually turn right
Formula 1 is one of my favs but good old American sports car racing is always a blast and the endurance runs are even better.
Nascar has it's place, but they need to admit those are formula cars also as they are now even templates have changed to make them more competitive brand to brand.
Anyway road course rules.

Who's the jackass in the new camaro? Did nothing but get in the damn way the whole race.

LOL

Don't hate me! Bought it as an investment many years ago. :) My cherished pride and joy....

BTW - Get nothing but compliments from the fairer sex when I wear it :). It's just a Submariner but damn - what a nice watch! :)

I dream of owning a sub mariner, My wife I gave an oyster perpetual.

anyway, am watching the race right now on speed. wow, 40 degrees and 2 lapsto warm up tires, lap steeds down by 20 seconds, this is a great race, notice the sports car class we have 2 guys in the winning lap, and Mazda has the gt class by 5 laps, what a race,
I really pull for the rotaries, I used tobuild engines for SCTA land speed racing. We race about 50 miles from here at Elmirage and have a yearly meet at spped week in Bonneville on teh salt lake, held a class record for part of a season with 154 miles per hour out of a 1300cc rotary.

Actually, want to know something funny, for a bunch of guys who love OLD JEEPS, we seem to really love technology if we are watching this form of racing. I fully expect Formula one threads now.

I was thinking the same thing while watching it. Theres probably a bunch of guys looking at this and saying :wtf:.

even though im a nascar guy i love watching grand am racing. i think now mustang, camero, and challengers are being made they need to bring back Transmission am racing.

What a great race - and sounds like you have had good times racing.

I used to deal with Interscope racing (before the Whitting Bros ended up in jail! (drug trafficking))

The speeds these cars attain are unreal!
Hey Baja - almost need a separate forum just to chat speed stuff! ")

5.0 Racing Rules!

That had to be a tough one though. They pitted thinking they had a problem. Then came back out after losing all that time. Tough luck Chip. He was a trooper about it saying they win or fail as a team though.
And that is why the D 24 is one of the greatest races... :)

At times a driver needs to think of what i best for the teem . With all the debris on that track he did make a good decsion for the moment. Such as arm chair quarterbacking, arm chair driving can be hard as you are not in the seat the driver is. Finishing the race with a whole car can be more important than losing with no car left. A win is a good thing, but championships are built on second and third place finishes
