Ever feel like your resto project has hit it. Parts are still being bought, upgrades in progress, just can't seem to find the end.Is it just me?

Like loosing interest in working on it?

Part of the "plan" needs to be having it at a stage where it can be driven from time to time. Re write your plan to get it mobile as soon as possible, put some romance and adventure back in the mix!:jeeplove:

I really enjoy working on it. I guess after 8 to 10 hours a day working on everyone else s junk, I sometimes find motivation a problem.:(

Speaking from experience the thought of putting a vehicle back together after you have torn it completly apart can be overwhelming. But look at it this way. Your not doing it for someone else, you are doing it for you. The time you spend putting this back together is therapy. It's a man thing! Breakyour project down in small sections. I mean really small sections, like your gonna fix this dent today, or your gonna mount the gas tank today. That way you accomplish your goal and can get something extra done and feel good about yourself. I redid my jeep over the winter. When it was too cold outside I worked inside on the wireing. Don't feel bad it happens. it takes time. Good luck to you!

Mines been running for years but it still feels like a never ending project.:D

Before you go out to the garage, pick ONE task you are going to complete and don't change to anything else until that is done.

I occasionally got overwhelmed doing a Ford V8 swap, tranny swap, 9" swap, etc. etc......just pick one task and stick with it.

my lord, this is exactly where i am. i bought a rebuilt master cylinder, bench bled it, put it in the jeep, started bleeding the brakes, and the master is leaking at the booster. now im frustrated to the point where i dont want to do anything else. i only have a few things to do before its road worthy, but i cant find the motivation to work on it.

priceg - I'm guessing your a mechanic? I can see where that might get monotonous after doing something similar all day. Maybe step away for a few days to get a break. Surf the net and read through some builds. I find those really motivating. I started tearing mine apart the beginning of October last year and my un-official goal was July so I could put it in it's first and only show since it would be freshly finished. Now that goal has moved back to September because of an off-road event in October. That still may change. The original plan was to be in no hurry since I don't need it for transportation, so I never set a hard and fast date that would pressure me. rr41mag said it well. It's therapeutic. Set small goals and knock them out one at a time. I sometimes frustrate myself because I'm sort of a multi tasker type and sometimes I jump around too much so I always have those unfinished tasks which makes it seem a bit daunting. But if you step back and think to the time when you first started, then you can see how far you've come and how much you've accomplished. And that feels good.

That's definitely a problem.

I did it for 7 years. Took a few years before I wanted to get back into cars/trucks as a hobby.

On the other hand, I wouldn't have the skills had I not done it for a living.
