I have a 1978 CJ7 with a AMC 304 and a automatic tranny. There is a slide switch mounted in front of the and at the top of the gas peddle. When you push the pedal down so far it contacts the slide and pushes the switch back towards the driver. What is the switch and what is it's purpose? I can't find it in any of my manuals
 
ok Thought it might have been that but just wanted to make sure
