TJ Bikini Top on a CJ?

I brought my Jeep to my friend's barn today, and he walked out with a gently used Bestop Bikini Top for me.

It looks like it is the proper size, but I'm wondering which windshield channel to use, or should I just attach it to my windshield directly? There are already holes in the windshield from the hard top, and it's not in the best condition anyway, so I'm not worried about it..

The rail is mounted on the top of the frame..on the other side of the "lip" The holes you have for the hardtop are on the inside. I think every jeep dealership in the world can get you the rail you need, that's where I got mine. It is just a CJ rail, nothing fancy, just be sure to specify your year/model.

I wouldnt try using it with the holes you have for the hardtop....

Im not sure a TJ top will work with a CJ given the differences in roll bar dimensions.....Is this a strapless style bikini top?

We need a picture of this top in question. I don't think you're understanding what CJim7 is saying about the straps. Here's a pic of a TJ bikini top

Which one does yours most look like? As for the the windshield channel, you have to use either a CJ or a YJ windshield channel, the TJ's windshield is very different. That's what leads me to believe that you're TJ top won't fit on your CJ, but I could be wrong.

It also came with a 'bed cover', and i think it had the rear window at some point, so it looks like it was purchased to be configured as the second picture you posted. Not sure if that helps any.

The more I look at it, I believe this is the 'strapless' style bikini top. I'll probably end up biting the bullet and ordering the windshield channel, and hope it fits. Either way, I want to have a bikini top for my CJ, so I'll need it eventually.

I'll report back with results when I get the channel. If anyone has any more input, I'm all ears

I think it may work. You will definately need the Cj windshield channel Elwood linked. If the velcro straps are long enough to wrap around the larger diameter roll bar Id try it.

The toneau cover (for the bed) is going to be very specific to jeep style. TJ bodies are wider then CJ bodies......and then theres the roll bar placement issues as the toneau is sewn with reliefs for the bars...again, CJ vs TJ difference.
You may be ok with the TJ bikini top...maybe...as long as the distance between the roll bar and windshield is similiar enough between the CJ and the TJ, no promises however. My guess on the toneau cover is you will run into the problem of it being too wide with relief differences for the roll bar.

But...here's the thing. There are far more TJ's out there then CJ's. You would have no problem selling it off...
