Way bad. The 72-75 have a steel insert that should clamp tight when the bolt is tightened.

Are you using OEM or poly bushings?

Some of the poly bushings are not the right length.

Make them snug with fat washers.

The play has got to go! :D

I made them snug...I am using the stock bushing that came in the new leaf springs from rough country....but I have the snug now with washers in between I think I am going to have to go and redo my front also can't remember if they were loose or not .....

Thank You
:chug:

It can get exciting with lots of bushing play at highway speeds! :D

lol thanks for the warning thank God I don't go down to many highways .... I think I am going to hit up IOport51 about me coming to Garland and replacing all these :D

I think that would probably be best.

Something is VERY wrong here. This pic really bothers me. What is the measurement of the width of the spring perch and of the spring at the eye and the actual spring? It looks like the spring widths at the ends have been reduced (ground). Where did these springs come from?

Notice how the spring would be correct except or the modification!

spring perch -Inner 2 1/8 Outer 2 5/8

Leaf Spring is 1 1/2 or 1 5/8

Not sure the skids are fitting I might have them shims backwards

The width dimension at the eye is key here.

The edges are too smooth for hand grinding. Also no heat damage to the paint. I suspect that the hot formers stamped that shape on the blank used for the spring.l

ok it's somewhere between 1/4" or a little under 3/8" only measuring tools I have here are tape measures. Here is what it looks like now

Where did these springs come from. They are not correct your CJ. All the springs I have ever used on my intermediate (72) never were like that - even the set I just bought last year.

They came from Rough Country uh So do I need to take them all off and send them back?

I'm not all that up on pre 72 CJ's but I'm betting that these were 72-75 springs that were modified. I would never use them.

Part # please?

Um....8006 for the rear? I'm going to have to fin the paperwork wherever my wife may have put it....Hopefully rough country is open tomorrow they are already horrible to deal with.

From Morris 4x4 the item # is RC-605H
