Living in Louisiana, it can be 42 degees for a week and 70 degrees the next week. The top can be a pain on and off every couple of days. I was considering a strapless bikini, wind jammer and dust cover to block the cold when the temp drops. When it warms, all I have to remove is the wind jammer and dust cover. Does anyone use the above and how well does it work? Any complaints or anything to look out for?

Bikini top to keep you warmer? I doubt it would help much. It is a bummer that the soft top is so much work to go on-off. I leave mine on and just remove doors and roll up or remove the rear window and if really warm remove the rear sides, still time consuming though.

Bestop makes a top that the sides and rear windows unzip out, might be a little easier to use for you. I have the soft top, no hardware for sale...

Do you have an ad with a pic of this? Curious about it.

not a good one myself but it looks something like this one...

I ran that setup on my TJ and really liked it, I then got a waterproof cab cover and when the rain came up I would put that over the entire setup and it waterproofed the system.
I think with the CJ7 you can get 2 piece doors also, that would make it nicer, once you have run half doors you never go back to full doors

Oh I thought you meant a 1/2 cab with zip out windows, not a full top . Nevermind.

Someone had posted this before and I believe Old Dog showed there are considerable gaps between the doors and this set up..
yes it does, but it is about the best system out there unless you run your top all the time
now considering this is AMC 150 and a top is 750, which would you rather sun rot?

Mylittlecj5 is your top gray like the one in the pic?

Here's a link to the pic I posted http://www.jeep-cj.com/forums/f7/windjammer-combo-instead-top-10706/

When we get into the cost factor of course theres a difference. Honestly though, Id prefer the Supertop. You can just zip in or out the windows and take off or put on the doors. If you take care of it you wont have to worry about another top for years.

Im speaking from experience. I had one on my CJ5 and a used one on my CJ7 . I used to run the one on my CJ5 year round here in Pa. I can offer up a used one for him if he wants.

Best top on my 73 CJ5 with zip out side and back windows and removeable doors and top of doors is 14 years old and is still in great shape.

is it on every day in the sun?

It is on and off. Stored inside and out of the sun when not in use. In the summer I take it off at times and other times run just without the doors and windows. Usually just roll up the back window. Jeep did sit inside with the top off for about 2 years before I bought it. I armor all it appx twice a year to condition it. The Jeep and GTO both get the garage when not in use, but get used regular year round. Jeep gets out in all kinds of weather, GTO only sees good weather days.

Thanks to everyone for the helpful info. I am ordering the combo tonight along with the weather protector.

sorry to revive this old post but was look at ordering the combo set up soon....curious if anyone/you had more info on it and pics and what your thoughts were.
1 question i did have was on the duster cover...does it fit as good as picture, like around the rollbar, if you dont have the padded covers?

bueller bueller!
