I have a 76 CJ5 , I have hard top for it but think I would be better off with a soft top. Should I sell the hard top for the soft. Any thoughts?:)

i like soft top better...easier to get on/off by yourself in the warm weather

If you have the room I would not get rid of it. I would think considering your local that a hard top would be good in winter for sure. Taking the soft top out when it is that cold is probable hard on the material. And warmer too!

Keep it and you have best of both.

A good CJ5 hardtop is pretty hard to find. Id keep it. Then Id buy a soft top. See how you like it and if you really feel you have no need for it after a year or 2 then sell it.

If you decide to sell it, send me a PM! I might be ready by then...:chug:

first of all your in Virginia. I would definitly keep the hard top and get a bakini top.

I tossed around this same question recently, and I opted to keep my hard top. It is original to my CJ, and I didn't want to limit my options. I now have a hard top, hard doors, soft top, soft doors and a bikini top. That covers every option for tops and doors that I might need or want. So, I agree with everyone else; keep it.

I think you made the smart decision. If you dont keep it and try to find another one later youd understand how rarely a nice one comes up for sale. And how costly as well. ;)

Thanks to you all, I run a bikini top now, guess I better keep the hard top, it does get cold in VA.

I just bought another Jeep, so I don't have to take the hard top off my tan one. When I want the top down I hop in the green Jeep.

:D
