OK, it might be there but I cannot find it. Whats the recommended torque value for the body mounts on a 78 CJ7 . Better yet for the 1" poly mounts , if its any different. All bolts are loose and I will be doing this early a.m. By the way I see everyone putting up their fav penetrate of choice, if you haven't tried AEROKROIL look it up. And as an all around lubricate try ZEP 45. Its teflon based and recommend by most aircraft companies. If this is OLD news please excuse me. Any help is welcomed on the torque, otherwise I'll use the German torque :)

Body mounts, you just go a little past 'real-snug' in tight and use some red loc-tite so the bolts don't back out.
I use silicon spray to lube the body mounts plus leaf springs and bushings.

I had the exact same question a while back...

http://www.jeep-cj.com/forums/f7/body-lift-torque-cj7-cant-find-21996/

I torqued mine to 30 ft lbs with blue lock tite. In retrospect I probably would have used the red, but only because I never plan to take the mounts off :) I haven't had any trouble with mine at all, still tight and hasn't shifted place at all.

Good luck with it.

Thanks guys, works for me

body mounts with on relatively well. The biggest problem was having to cut the forward welds on the nerf bars . They were in the way of the #2 mounting flanges.

35" cooper sst tires with the stainless classic procomp wheels are on order.

What R&P ratio are you using?
Your 20 & 30 won't like 35's  Especially so, if your still run'n the OEM(POS)2-piece rear axles.
What do you have on now?

both axles have 373 gears in them. As soon as I get the floors in I'm going to concentrate on the axles. Gonna stick with the 20 , add a 1 piece axle kit and weld the housing up. Prob will make a truss more for fun. going to step up to 4.10s, 4.11s , what ever it calls for. right now the jeep is in project mode.I do drive it to work sometimes. .. L.G this thing will be wheeled when its ready, I'll put the 15x10 rims with 33's on when that time comes. Right now the drive train is strong but the T-150 and 20 will be rebuilt by me. i'd like to put a four speed in it but money says one thing at a time. Dana 300 , 44 axles etc....

I have a builders thread.... 1978 cj in progress if anyone would like to see where I started.

IMO: Don't waste your time & $$$ try'n to get that rear '20' to live with 35's-IT WON'T.
I couldn't get my '20' to 'live' with 33's. I do wheel mine also. Put a 9" in mine over 24 yrs ago and never look'd back. That 20 and it's stupid little brakes with 35's is a joke!
Do yourself and your wallet a favor, put a better axle assembly in the rear.
IF, I were you-I would build the drive-line, BEFORE I put 35's on. The real weak point in the front 30 is the small axle u-joints.
Good luck,
LG
