That's correct, the same badge came on both Cherokee Chief, and Cherokee Sport models.

The only adornment of any kind on either of my CJ's are the rather discrete Tread Lightly stickers on the rear cross member on the 5 and the tank skid on the B.

As far as JK's and the other "trail rated" Jeeps go, all I can say is a stock JK Rubicon can go way more places than any stock CJ did. Sorry, just fact. From 40 something years seat time in the CJ's and 3 years now on the Rubi.

I too have absolutely no empathy for the mall crawlers but have to admit I get a big grin every time I see a stupid a-- snorkel on a JK. The up-side is there should be a lot of pristine prissy JK's to mess with down the road for trail rig fodder.

Just a thought ..... What is the price difference between one of todays well carpeted, fluffy seated, stereo filled metro sexual carting rigs and a stock CJ? Lets face it, the CJ was originally built to do a certain job and for its time the CJ did it well. The modern day vehicle that looks a lot like a CJ is made for something else entirely and lets not forget that it has the advantage of being +25 years newer in a time where technological advances have been unprecedented.
