tranny ?

on my wifes 00 civic if your drive it normal its fine. then if you get on it the rpms shoot up but the car dont take off and sounds like air is rushing really fast from under the hood on the tranny side. does this sound like the torque convertor is going out.

This could be very expensive to fix or very cheap.
Lets check check out the cheap solution first. See if your Transmission fluid is low.
