The SEMA organization (Specialty Equipment Market Association) held its annual MPMC (Motor Sports Parts Manufacture Council) conference this week, which is giant a hit in the automotive industry. The association rents out an Embassy Suites Hotel and fills the rooms with just about any aftermarket automotive manufacturer a person can think of.
Meetings are held in a speed dating like manner. For three days, journalists hop from room to room visiting manufacturers to learn about their latest and greatest new products. Each visit is timed; at the end of 30 minutes, a bell is rung, and the journalists switch rooms and chat with another manufacturer.
This is a great way to get one-on -one face time with everyone in our niche market place. It's also a cool way to meet up with fellow journalist we haven't visited with in a while, it's just like Christmas all rolled into one big event!!!!
