ok im messing with the fuel gauge today. i moved the ground to a good ground on the sending unit and nothing. so i got under the dash and played with those terminals. if i put a full 12v to the s term it goes to full. if i put the wires back on the way they should it goes right back to empty. so does this mean i got a bad sending unit? i hate some electrical work

Lol, how much gas is in the tank?
Check me post of useful stuff in the misc section there is gauge info there to t/s the gauge itself.

It might. You know if you put 12v and the gauge moves that you don't have any problems with the gauge, ground, or wiring. A couple of things could be wrong. The float could have a crack or it could be stuck somehow. You'll have to pull the tank out for that. That's what happened with my tank.
