Vehicle(s)
1979 Jeep CJ7 TH400 Automatic 258 I6 Quadratrac Amc 20 rear & Dana 30 front, 32 x 11.5 x 15 tires. Currently a Complete Custom Rebuild in progress.

Also I own a 2001 Jeep Cherokee, White, all stock with 4.0L. automatic, and police package. Best part of that is it came with leather seats! This package also has the NP242 Transfer Case, 8.25 rear end, and trailer towing package.
I have been with guys who have been into those and they seem pretty neat and sometimes even useful. I have been jeeping for a long time and the c.b. is still in demand for off roading in groups.

Yeah, the nice thing about CB's for vehicle-to-vehicle use is that it usually doesn't matter what the other guy has so long as it's a CB. I have a little compact unit I mount with magnets and it works just fine for what I do.

The cheaper and simpler the better.:D

I've noticed that several off-road clubs list cb radios in their lists of items that are required to be installed prior to being accepted as a new member.

From what I gather from your post Peanut Butter is that C.B.s are not compatible with the hand held Walmart Jobbies. My C.B. is not working properly(I don't pick up any transmissions and I don't know if it is the antenna or the radio. I need something to interact with it to test it out. Radio Shack used to be the mecca for C.B.s. Now all they want to do is sell you a cell phone.

Back many years ago when I did allot of four wheeling, we all had CB radios. We used them to warn each other of what was up ahead, or tell another that we were stuck, and whether to strap on the front or the rear of the vehicle and also very important.....if one was out of beer! :chug: I still have two CB's, and as our group of Jeeper's grow here in my area, may begin using them again. That's correct. Look with the AM FM radios. Sometimes the CBs are stocked there in automotive. Most bubble pack radios are in sporting goods and toys. Rod
