u joint bolts

Isn't there a conversion from bolts w/straps to u bolts? I have an 81 CJ7

I think you have to change out the yokes to the u-bolt style.

One of my bolt holes is stripped out. I'm thinking a heli coil for now.

Some folks drill out the existing holes to put u-bolts in. Theres debate on if this allows enough yoke material to be left for strength on these std. yokes.

Yes, The bolt hole center is different.

I just checked and it was a bolt stripped not the hole.

I replaced all my factory Torx head bolts with Allen head cap bolts. Makes things easier.
