Only the 4 cylinder had the upshift light.
IIRC it is on the right side of the steering column on the dash, above the wiper switch. It is about a half inch indicator that displays an arrow when lit. If you have an empty half inch hole in that area, it's gone.
Found the pic. See the screw in the dash pad, just below and to the left.

it is still on my jeep, but has never lit up. just thought it was a filler for a whole, but after closer examination, i see it is the light. either it isn't hooked up of the bulb is blown. i'll look into it now that i know what and where it is. thanks,
