That is to say it forces a new/upgraded tire swing..

Poor planning on my part, but much to my dismay, my new 33" spare will not fit on my carrier/swing. I had to throw it in the back to get it home, and leave the old wheels there to pick up another day!

So...if you all have a tire swing that fits 33s I'd like to see it, Manufacturer and/or retailer would be helpful. I'd really like a swing that I could mount my hilift, maybe a shovel and/or Jerry can.
The thing is, I'm not set up to fab anything anymore, so that's not really an option...some day I'll have a proper shop again.

Thanks in advance :chug:

I'll take pics of the carrier when I can see the Jeep in the daylight, but for the curious, here's a pic with new wheels & tires on.

Warn, found the set for $AMC 150 used.

I like my warn as well but there's no way to mount a hi-lift or jerry can

Adding a hi-lift jack to a rear warn bumper is easy enough if you have a welder. However, the jerry can would need some extra tubing to get it done.

What's the largest tire you can put on a stock carrier for a 84 CJ7 ? I am getting 35x12.5 but I doubt that will fit.

If it's the same swing out carrier as mine, I had 32s on there, but my 33s won't go.

Hmm. My buddy has a 78 Levi (Edition) CJ7 and I am pretty sure he has a 33x12.5 bfg AT on there. His carrier is kind of loose though. The tire kind of hangs out a bit because of it.

His is the brown one. The second video is him and there is one pic that shows a side pic.

Can't tell you how many time I've noticed the mounts being pulled out of the sheetmetal because of someone mounting a large tire on a stock carrier.

Personally I wouldn't mount a 33" tire or larger on a stock carrier. They were not designed to handle the weight.

The pics are tiny yet still take forever to load, but it looks like he's using a lower profile bumper. I've got the double tube bumper, which probably sticks up a bit further?
