Tried searching around and not finding the info I'm looking for...hopefully someone here can shed some light!

I'm wanting to use the factory soft doors without the factory top...the doors latch into the soft top frame....is there a product, or has someone "invented" a way to latch the doors without the factory soft top installed?

Thanks!

all you would have to do is make some kind of bracket for them to latch to. of course you would have to take it off to put the tops frame back on. they might get a little flimsy in the wind to.

I take it this must not be a popular mod lol I use a bikini top only don't even have a full top :)

i only saw one like this once on a CJ5 on craigslist. its to cold here in kansas to even attempt it in the winter. it should be pretty easy to fab somthing up :)

You may be able to use one of the old door latched from an older CJ. I have an older CJ5 five that has an "L" bracket screwed to the tub to latch the door.

If you would like I can take a pic of the ones on my CJ5 and send it to you. Hell as far as that goes if you want them cover the shipping and you can have the two I have....

Take Care,
Mike

Sounds awesome, yeah post up a picture and most likely ill go that route! Thanks!!

Actually Supertops use an L bracket that bolts to the hole where the OEM treble foot upright rod goes.

i dont think the supertop style bracket will work. if i remember right, the stock style door has the latch a bit higher than supertops. my supertop bracket only comes off the edge of the top about 3 in.

I would just make up a triangle from flat stock steel that can be bolted to the top rail of the tub and tall enough to catch the door latch.

After putting a door on (owned the jeep for a year and have never used the doors lol)

Looks like attaching something to the roll bar will be my best bet as you are correct, the stock latch is pretty high up

How close does the door het to the rollbar? Looking at my 8, it would be easier to build a triangular bar type thing and mount it to the bed side. My tiger top has the metal door frame things that could be used as they are made for the old style latch. If you want pics let me know. I see you are a Nova Jeeper as well so I am local to you if you want to take a coser look.

Hey Dain, yeah it's me "Jr" lol

It comes close enough to the toolbar that I could make something off of the rollbar....but too high off the tub to not look freakish by adding something there unless it was removable....will mess around with stuff the next weekend I'm off....
