Got a new volt meter today and installed it. When I turned the key the heater motor fuse blew, just to be sure that is what caused the fuse to blow I replaced the fuse and tried again with the same out come... Is that right? Is that gauge suposed to be tied in with the heater motor? I am under the impression that all the gauges tie in to the acc. fuse or the IGN LPS fuse.

Just to give a little history I've pulled the ECM, associated harness, and all the emissions :dung: in the engine bay. Now im working on getting all the gauges to work and clean up under the dash. I just got new temp, fuel, and volt gauges and fuel sending unit. (Omix)

I'm not sure what it could be, but I would start by tracing the hot wire from the heater blower fuse over to the blower/resistor. From the sound of it, you have a direct short to ground in that line someplace. If you want to save a bit of work and further isolate the location of the problem, make sure the blower switch is off, put a new fuse in, turn on the key and see if the fuse blows then, or after you turn the blower switch on......good luck..:)
