Does anyone know of a source for replacement seat covers for original Nutmeg Western-Weave high-back seats?

Thanks,
Bobby

I haven't seen that style/color of seat upholstery in many years and also haven't seen it for sale anywhere either. If you have a sample of the original, a good upholstery shop should be able to match or almost match it and make you some seat covers fairly inexpensively. The color/pattern is probably still available in bulk rolls but just not already made into a Jeep seat cover.

I make this recommendation, because several years ago, I was restoring a boat that had a very unique type of seat cover pattern from the 60's that I wanted to replicate, and the shop that made them for me easily found what I was looking for from one of their suppliers.

Thanks Les. The seats are original and in very good shape except for the driver bottom. I will check with a couple of the local shops.

Thanks,
Bobby

Bobby,

My wife and both my daughters say that you should consider recovering your seats in a zebra skin pattern....I only mention this, so you will understand exactly what I have to put up with around here on a regular basis:eek:

Seriously though, after I posted to you earlier, I made a few calls to friends and one of them recommended the link below, which is for a company called Original Auto Interiors. They have "new old stock" patterns and material for many older vehicles going back to the 1950's, so I'm told. My friend said they had a new/old interior for his 60's Chevy.....hope this helps....

Your sincerity totally underwhelms me mtnwhlr....:D One of my daughters actually has her car upholstered in a zebra skin pattern.....she isn't even allowed to park her car in the same garage as my Jeep.

Thanks for the link.
My 4-year old daughter says she wants a pink Jeep when she starts driving so I feel your pain.
One of the local used car dealers where I live had a zebra striped Jeep Scrambler on their lot for a few months. This would have been around 1987 or 1988.

A zebra striped CJ????? The fact that someone would actually do that to such a classic, is just more evidence that this world has some really screwed up people in it!

And btw, my daughter just added another accessory to her car....she now has a big, pink Hello Kitty sticker in the back window. While I consider this to be horrifying, at least Hello Kitty is holding an AK47, so I guess that makes it semi-ok?

I wish I had thought to take a picture of the poor Scrambler. If you look up the first season of Gearz you will see the Ted Nugent Bronco, that is how the Scrambler looked.
Not sure if it is the daughters or the dads who raise them, but my daughter loves Hello Kitty and guns.

:shooter:If your daughter is a gun nut, she obviously has a dad with his priorities straight....:D

And yes, I've actually seen Uncle Teds Bronco in person, back when it had the regrettable circus stripes. He lives down the road about an hour from me.

I try with the priorities.:)
Here are a couple of fabric option pictures I received from Original Auto Interiors Inc.|Leading supplier for N.O.S. factory original seat upholstery, cloth and vinyl yardage, headliners and vinyl top yardage. along with pictures of my seats.

I was told my 82 CJ7 was originally a Renegade . :dunno:
The firewall VIN plate paint and interior codes are:
9B Olympic White paint
5EE Nutmeg high back western weave interior

Well, it looks like they really have a lot of choices in retro seat materials. I should probably look up the original paint/interior codes on my CJ7 one of these days. I'm fairly sure that the rattle can white it's painted now, isn't original...:D

My Olympic White is more like Sam's Choice White right now. I will worry about that later.
Here are the files I use to check my VIN info. Some of the VIN experts on here may have a better source.:dunno:
