I was looking to buy this for a cheap runner for anyone that might want to run with me (bro in law:p)
Beat and Battered 74 cj5. What's it worth?

He pm'd me and I thought he had it sold. But as mentioned in some other threads I lost some one very close to me in the past week and have a lot going on. Who knows though, if its still around in the next week or so my wife may not kill me if I take it on. The most recent post he dropped it to $1500. I had offered $1300 a month or so ago.

I would not be offended if someone else has interest. Like I said, its 50/50 for me but I want to also know what you guys think.

Those pics and stats really tell a story, I'm sure that rig brought many smiles. Anyway if building is in your blood you have to do it. Good Luck!

The front axle shaft ,T-18 , Tera low and 401 are worth his asking price.

Thanks. I am going to sleep on it a few days and if its there I may be making some smiles in it.

Yea there is some value in the parts which makes it a decent deal. I am just not sure if it should be a better price as i'm not in it to part out.

I think if you really wanted it for 1300, you should split the difference and offer 1400 and take it out of his yard.

It has a bunch of expensive kit already installed, and its likely that the rest of it is mechanically good given that. Have you driven it?

I have no idea how expensive the body work will be to repair. Here in Mexico I would buy it for 1500 right now, but the aesthetics would only cost me 1000US to fix...

Let us all know what you decide!

I was thinking the same, maybe meet in the middle :) I am still debating and it does not show sold yet. I would be in no hurry if I picked it up and definitely prefer the parts and it running good over the looks. I am sure all the other stuff would come along with time and patience for next to nothing.

I think it's worth it for the parts only, IF you USE the parts and if they're good.

The parts mentioned plus the tires seem okay too. The rest can be "recycled" ;)

CJ007want to use it as a spare for someone else to run. I think he is thinking if it gets rolled no big deal. Not parting it out

I guess I kinda sounded negative there. I didn't intend to. For what he wants it to accomplish it should be fine.

Looks like a perfect jeep for what your looking for...a rattle can, some used fenders, and flip those springs back where they belong.

Just an update. I have decided not to start something new but am going to hold out for the end of the year (after fall fishing :)) and get my Jeep ready for paint and pull the tub. Thanks for the responses. I think that CJ5 may still be available.

Just needs a little buffing out maybe
